Electrical impedance cardiogram in derivation of systolic time intervals.

چکیده
The reliability and use of the differentiated electrical impedance cardiogram (dZ/dt) in calculating systolic time intervals were assessed in 185 subjects under varying conditions. In the first phase, simultaneous recording of carotid pulse, dZ/dt, electrocardiogram and phonocardiogram (PCG) was obtained in 50 normal volunteers under controlled conditions. In the second phase dZ/dt, electrocardiogram and phonocardiogram were obtained initially, and carotid pulses, electrocardiograms, and phonocardiograms were recorded immediately afterwards. Serial recordings were obtained in 35 subjects

Effect of mitral valvular regurgitation on transthoracic impedance cardiogram.
Mitral valvular regurgitation consistently modified the wave form of the first derivative of the transthoracic impedance cardiogram. The transthoracic impedance cardiogram was recorded in 23 control subjects (group 1), and 23 patients with isolated mitral regurgitation (group 2). Simultaneous transthoracic impedance cardiogram, electrocardiogram, and mitral valve echocardiograms in group 1 show...
متن کاملEffect of aortic valvular regurgitation upon the impedance cardiogram.
The first derivative thoracic impedance cardiogram, phonocardiogram, and electrocardiogram were recorded in three groups of 22 subjects each. In Group 1 (control), simultaneous impedance cardiogram, phonocardiogram, and aortic valve echocardiograms showed that the X point of the impedance cardiogram occurred synchronously with the aortic second heart sound and with echocardiographic aortic valv...
متن کاملSignal fidelity requirements for deriving impedance cardiographic measures of cardiac function over a broad heart rate range.
Our findings indicate that the impedance cardiogram spectrum extends from DC to 50 Hz. Any amplifier with an upper band limit less than 50 Hz can be expected to produce attenuation and distortion of the impedance cardiogram. This signal attenuation may be systematically enhanced under conditions of high heart rate when a greater proportion of signal energy will be in the upper frequency range o...
متن کاملAssessment of the impedance cardiogram recorded by an automated external defibrillator during clinical cardiac arrest.
OBJECTIVE To assess the impedance cardiogram recorded by an automated external defibrillator during cardiac arrest to facilitate emergency care by lay persons. Lay persons are poor at emergency pulse checks (sensitivity 84%, specificity 36%); guidelines recommend they should not be performed. The impedance cardiogram (dZ/dt) is used to indicate stroke volume. Can an impedance cardiogram algorit...
متن کاملApex cardiogram and systolic time intervals in acute myocardial infarction.
cent a systolic 'bulge'. The a-E interval and the time to the systolic peak of the apex cardiogram were significantly shortened. The systolic time intervals showed shortening of the pre-ejection period i, isovolumetric contraction time, electromechanical systole, and ejection time along with the E-J interval which represents the phase of maximum ventricular ejection. The changes observed were t...
